Welcome aboard in the late afternoon around 15.00pm. Modern Fethiye is located on the site of the ancient city of Telmessos, the ruins of which can be seen in the city, e.g. the Hellenistic theatre by the main quay. Telmessos was the most important city of Lycia, with a recorded history starting in the 5th century BC. Evening meal on board and overnight at Fethiye harbour.

After breakfast and briefing, Gulet boats will set off along the coast in time for lunch at Tersane Island, where you can see the remains of a Roman and Greek shipyard on the beach. The rest of the day is spent at small bays and islands in the beautiful Gocek Bays that the people call Twelve islands. The night is spent in the natural bay at Ag Limani or Ekincik bays.

Gulet boats will sail early in the morning we will arrive in Ekincik. After dropping anchor in a peaceful bay Semizce, you will have the choice of either staying on board, or taking an optional trip to visit Dalyan and Caunos. The passengers who would like to join Dalyan & Kaunos daily trip leave with a small fisherman boat at 10:00. Optional trip is with extra charge visiting Caretta Caretta beach, Dalyan River, Caunos antik city and famous Mud Bath.
Kaunos was an important sea port, the history of which is supposed to date back till the 10th century BC. Because of the formation of Iztuzu Beach and the silting of the former Bay of Dalyan (from approx. 200 BC onwards), Kaunos is now located about 8 km from the coast. The city had two ports, the southern port at the southeast of Küçük Kale and the inner port at its northwest (the present Sülüklü Göl, Lake of the Leeches). The southern port was used from the foundation of the city till roughly the end of the Hellenistic era, after which it became inaccessible due to its drying out. The inner or trade port could be closed by chains. The latter was used till the late days of Kaunos, but due to the silting of the delta and the ports, Kaunos had by then long lost its important function as a trade port.
Iztuzu beach is a narrow spit of land, which forms a natural barrier between the fresh water delta of the Dalyan river and the Mediterranean. It is one of the main breeding grounds for loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) in the Mediterranean and is therefore often referred to as “Turtle Beach”. The loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) is on the IUCN Red list of endangered animals. For this reason the beach has had a protected status since 1988 and is part of the Köyceğiz – Dalyan Special Environmental Protection Area.
The daily trip ends at 18:00 heading back to Gulet boats. The night is spent in Semizce bay.

Gulet boats will sail after breakfast, there will be time for swimming and a leisurely lunch at Turunç Bükü or at beautiful Cennet (Paradise) Island, before arriving in Marmaris for dinner and the night. Marmaris is a port town and tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast, located in Muğla Province, along the shoreline of the Turkish Riviera. Marmaris’ main source of income is tourism. It is also a centre for sailing and diving, possessing two major and several smaller marinas. It is a popular wintering location for hundreds of cruising boaters, being also served by the nearby Dalaman Airport.

Gulet boats will leave Marmaris around lunch time, depending on weather/sea conditions and the Captain’s choice, you may stop for lunch and swim in Kumlubuk Bay, before heading off to Semizce bay at Ekincik for dinner and the night.

Gulet boats will start cruising early for the beautiful Gocek Bays area. Gocek was named “Kalimche” in ancient times, and is located between Fethiye – Telmessos in ancient times – and Dalyan – Caunos in ancient times. According to the legends, it is in the Göcek area that Icarus landed in the sea after his famous flight trying to escape from the tower where he was imprisoned. Göcek was used as a harbour for ships loading chrome ore collected from the mines under nearby mountains during the Ottoman period.Today, Göcek hosts six significant marinas that serve the yacht tourism in the region. We will stop at Kuyruk Burnu for breakfast before finally reaching the peace of Batik Hamam Bay. Overnight is spent in either in Bedri Rahmi or Sarsala Bay.

Gulet boats will set sail after breakfast to visit other pretty spots in the Fethiye Gulf, including lunch and a swim at Turuncpinari bay or Samanlık bay or Kizilada, heading back towards Fethiye between 16.00pm – 18.00pm and last night on board at Fethiye harbour. Dinner is on board, if anyone wants to go for a walk in the city it’s very close to the marina.
